I have two XP PC's on a LAN using a crossover cable.
When the power to PC 1 is connected, PC 2 boots up. I
checked the settings for PC 2 and found that 'On lan' was
enabled. I switched this off but the boot up still
occurs when PC 1 is powered up.

How do I disable this?

cheers

Where did you find the 'On lan' setting? It should be disabled in PC
2's BIOS setup program. Make sure to save the new setting before
exiting from the BIOS setup program.

If that doesn't fix the problem, see if there's a 3-conductor WOL
(Wake-on-LAN) cable running from PC 2's network adapter to the
motherboard. If so, remove the cable.
