To get rid of an adware toolbar, I was advised to rename omniband.dll (in
system32) as old omniband.dll, which took care of the problem, but now my
toolbar settings will not hold.

Where is omniband.dll located on the installation disk so that I can extract
another copy?

Hi David,

It's a malware DLL, and you don't need to extract the file. The Quick Launch
/ Taskbar settings are not saved as BlazeFind modifies the Userinit value in
the registry. See Quick Launch settings are not saved; Search Assistant
