I have ICS installed on XP Pro PC using 56k dial up connection. 2nd PC is
XP Home. I ran the network setup wizard on both PCs and it seems to want to
change the connection to connect to the XP Home PC as Internet Gateway.
Everytime I shut down the XP Home PC it causes my internet connection to
dial on the Pro PC. It also connects to Internet even before the XP Home PC
is logged onto Windows.

The hub that I have both PCs plugged into is 4 years old and suggests that
Netbeuli (forgot how to spell it) be installed as protocol.

Can I use ICS with Netbeuli? If I install this protocol, do I need to
uninstall Internet Connection Sharing first? I also have manually assigned
IP because the auto assigned ones did not seem to work. Kept getting error
messages. In original directions for hub and network cards, it suggests
that manual IP be used.

Can anyone advise other than replacing the hub? I do plan to do this later,
but money is an issue right now and I cannot purchase another now.

Yes, that's how ICS works.

No. Don't do it - it won't help you.

You don't need it. And NetBEUI is not used for Internet connectivity. It's a
non-routable protocol used on LANs -and not much used at this point.

I believe you have to use DHCP on the client computer when using ICS.

Don't know what you mean by this - a hub isn't smart, it doesn't care.

I don't use ICS, so I'm not sure what else I can offer here....but something
on the XP Home machine is triggering this.
