Old XP Hard Drive In New Machine

Hi,

My old machine was hit by lightnig. To retrieve data on
old HDD it says acess denies under new XP Pro
installation. How do I cange the permisions and get to
my data?

Hit by lightening? You could try to take ownership of the drive/root folder. Also go
into Computer Management/disk management to make sure XP is recognizing the drive as
it may need to be initialized. If you had any files encrypted with EFS, they may be
impossible to retrieve. --- Steve
