Old microsoft Works won't work with XP

I have many quotation and other documents stored in my
old microsoft "works" program which were pre-loaded when
I purchased my computer.

I'm now using Microsoft XP 2003 and whenever I attach any
file from the old Mocrosoft Works files to an email, the
receiver can't opern the file.

How do I make Works files compatable with XP 2003?

What fomat did you save the files in? Does the receiver have works installed? Have the receivers disabled the security function with regards to attachments?

What do you mean, can't open the file?

If I (for instance) type up my resume in WordPerfect and send it to someone
who only has Wordpad, a different (basic) word processor, they're not going
to be able to open it, either. They'd need either WordPerfect, or a program
that understands WordPerfect files.

You might try sending it as Text (.txt) or Rich Text (.rtf) and see how they
do.

If you have to ask if your copy of XP is 32 or 64 bit, it's 32.
