Hi,
Is there any way to make Windows XP look completely like old versions of Windows? For example, the UI in Windows Explorer looks strange. I'm looking for a way to make Windows look like previous versions. Any suggestions?

What do *you* mean by OLD?

Windows 3.11?
Windows 95?
Windows 98?
Windows NT?
Windows ME?
Windows 2000?

You can go into classic mode with classic explorer to give it more of a
Windows 98/Windows 2000 feel/appearance.
You could even download and utilize the old file explorer from WIndows 3.11
if you desired.

How do I make it look like Windows 98? Explorer looks like IE6. I want it to
look like an older version, like 4.

Here's the way my Windows Explorer looks with WinXP (URL at bottom of
post). I use a green theme instead of Windows blue theme, and the
little 'stopwatch' display at the upper right is not part of XP. I
prefer this look over the standard XP look.

(1) My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Performance/Adjust for best performance
(2) On your desktop/Right -Click/Properties/Themes/change to Windows Classic.then Appearance...whole bunch of options there.

My computer looks almost exactly like Win 98 except for the boot-up screen.

You want what's known as Windows Classic view, how 95/98 look.

Go to Control Panel>Display>Appearance tab>Windows and Buttons (just under
display of how things look). Click on upside-down triangle to get
selection, click on "Classic". Apply and OK to set it.
