I've transferred some old DOS jobs from Win98 to XP and
can't get them to run. Any advice on where to get a how-to
would be appreciated.

Did you try the compatibilty wizard to set them up?

Some DOS programs just simply won't work in XP, esp. if they try to
access hardware directly. XP does not provide DOS.

If debugging or Wizard doesn't solve problem, maybe best to keep themon
the Win98 machine. It works.

XP does not have DOS. Windows 3.1 was nothing more than a GUI for DOS, and
Win9x just expanded on that. It was built with a DOS foundation. However,
Windows 2000 and Windows XP were not built on DOS. There is a
limited-function command prompt in both versions of windows, however. Start
Run > type "cmd" (without quotes).

What were the jobs. If you can give details on them, maybe we can help.
