I have an old Dos based game that ran fine on my older PC
I had years ago (486). I have the game loaded in my
newest OEM (very up to date),but I cant get the game to
run. Any suggestions?

Try running the game in compatibility mode, right
click "most likely the executable file" for dos games,
and choose properties on the properties page choose
compatibility and set the mode as you wish and see if it
works then.

You are running WinXP or Win2K right ?

If you can't get the game to run in Compatibility Mode as suggested by
the previous poster (and look in XP's Help & Support for "Compatibility
Mode" for a how-to), then consider picking up an old computer running
Win9x (or earlier) for the game. I've got an old 486 still chugging
along running DOS for when I need to play "Loom" or "Indiana Jones"!

Many old dos based games need to access your hardware directly. If this
is so, then your old dos game will NOT run on XP.
