I have an old Dell that I want to turn into a music/video server on my home
network. On the network now I have two computers. One is a Sony Vaio running
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. The other is an EMachines running
Windows XP Home Edition SP2. The old Dell is running Windows ME. Can I just
plug it into my router the same way the other two are plugged in? I know
about adding a folder for the music. I know about naming the computer a name
to share on the network. My main concern before doing this is, will I
encounter a lot of problems trying to network the ME computer in with the two
XP's? Anything different I have to do for the ME to work on the network. The
old computer has 256 MB RAM and one 160 GB hdd, and one 40 GB hdd. Thanks in
advance for any help.
