OL2K3 -- Exit when minimized?

Got an interesting one here on just ONE of the machines I manage. :)

Whenever the user clicks to minimize their instance of Outlook 2003 it
vanishes -- the GUI exits out although the process is still running in the
background. If he reboots his box, he'll be prompted to empty the deleted
items folder and all but he is not able to access the application (alt-tab,
etc.) and it does not list in Applications (under Task Mgr.) only under
processes. Naturally, double-clicking the icon brings it right up of course
but that's a bit inconvenient.

Any suggestions?

are you sure it's not minimized to the tray? Get
http://sunflowerhead.com/software/knockout/ and the user can see if it's
still running.

Like I said, the process is still running in the background it's just not
accessible. I haven't been able to get at the PC to see if it's running in
the systray as yet but intend to give that a check -- odd as this is a new
and default installation of OL2K3. I've heard minimize-to-tray is a feature
in XP & 2K3 versions but I can't seem to find any documentation on how the
feature is set...?

Outlook 2003 adds a tray icon when it's running - right click on it to
toggle minimize to tray. (Outlook 2002 uses a registry key.)

Aha -- I see the options now. Since this is not the default behavior on the
other installations, I've never even looked at what's on that icon. :)

Thanks!
