OL2003: Can I remove the 'Favorite Folders' view?

This is an extremely annoying feature for me.

Can this little window be removed from the Navigation Pane?
 
As far as I am aware, the window cannot be totally removed but if U delete
all the entries in the window it will at least take up less screen sspace.
