I've been using Outlook 2000 for some time on my XP Home
machine. However, today, I am not receiving e-mail
messages. The error tells me there is a problem with my
outlook.pst file and to run inbox repair. However, I
cannot find this outlook.pst file. It tells me the
location: C:Documents and settings\kevin\Local
settings. . . . But, there is no Local Setting folder in
my files. A full search on outlook.pst yields nothing. I
can still see all of my messages in my inbox, but my
contacts and sent messages are gone. I can't think of
anything in particular that could have caused this. Any
suggestions on how to fix this without reinstalling and
losing data? Thanks. --Kevin

The folder is marked hidden. You need to open Windows Explorer and select
Tools | Folder options. Go to the view tab to configure Windows to show you
hidden/system folders. (there are two checkboxes.) This should get the
Local Settings folder to show up.
