OL 2003 inbox message outbound problem

Harlen

I have OL 2003 working on Windows XP. In time, messages in my Inbox
will automatically move themselves directly into the Deleted folder. It
could take anywhere from immediate to a couple of minutes to
automatically move all messages to the Deleted folder. I have no rules
set up. Has anyone seen this and have a fix?

You may not have any rules setup but do you have any of the Junk Mail
handling features setup?
 
I don't have any junk mail feature set up. If I did, I think the email
message would be filtered immediately and be sent to the Junk Mail folder.
What I've seen is that messages linger in the Inbox for a while before being
moved to the Deleted folder. It lingers between 1/2 to 5 minutes. Strange.
My IT person is baffled.

Are you using Exchange server? Do you have any addins installed? Are they
really moving to deleted or just disappearing?

I'm using the Exchange server but I notice when I was using POP, the same
thing happened with the messages. No message is deleted but messages are
moved to the Deleted folder. I'm not aware of any addins. How do I look
for them?

Tools->options->other->advanced. Look under Add-in Manager and COM add-ins.
Tell us what you find.

the only one I'm not familiar with is meetingplace. The others are the
defaults and aren't doing it.

did you upgrade from an earlier version of outlook and had rules setup to
move items to another folder in that version?

No. The Outlook I'm using is 2003 and is part of the MS Office 2003
installtion. I have 2 rules that I set up and nothing else, but this
happens with or w/o the rules.

Hello,

I no longer have this problem. Why? My guess is that my mail was going to
the mail hub account and my outlook calendar mail was going to the outlook
server. Once they had all my mail directed to the outlook server,
everything work as I expected.
