I have Windows XP and Outlook 2003. I have a primary email address with
Insight Broadband. I just established a new gmail account and am unable to
get my Outlook to work. I have enabled the POP3 stuff on the gmail website
and saved changes. I have followed all the instructions to setup the gmail
account in Outlook. But every time, it says "Unable to send test message.
Please verify the Email Address Field." The email address is typed
correctly, contains the @gmail.com, and is all lowercase.
I have searched google, Outlook, and Office for solutions, but all the other
articles are about Outlook Express or Outlook 2002, and I have Outlook 2003.
What can I do? It's making me crazy!

Gmail is web mail, not POP mail so you can't use Outlook. Ask your provider
for help. You cannot "configure a web site" for Outlook. You have to
configure Outlook for POP mail servers. Use your browser for Gmail.

What happens when you try to actually send a message (not the "test
account" button)? The error message you get when you try to send will be
much more useful than the one that the "test account" gives you.
