Howdy,

Running OL2K with Win2K Pro.

I had a few email messages on my laptop, and wanted them on my main
box.

I ran the import routine from the main box, and all went smoothly. The
messages were properly imported, but...

After the import, I got a dialog telling me that the import could not
proceed because the PST from which I was importing was "in use."

Because there were only a handful of messages, it was very easy for me
to verify that the import was, in fact, complete, but I remain baffled
by the dialog's message.

Can you assist?

Thanks,

Hint for the future- NEVER import a .pst file. Use File->Open. You will
not lose data such as received dates, custom forms, connections between
contacts and activities, etc.

Hi Milly,

Perhaps I am misunderstanding...

If I use File | Open, won't the messages stay on the notebook? I
wanted to move them from the notebook to the second system. How would
File | Open do that for me?

Thanks,

Copy the entire .pst file and paste on the computer of your choice. Use
File->Open to access the folders. Drag and drop what you want between .pst
files.
