My SP2 is working OK on all four networked PCs.
Is it ok to delete \$NtServicePackUninstall$\ ? I don't intend to
uninstall SP2.

The uninstaller contains more than just the SP rollback, there are
also drivers, etc. If you want a extra level of protection just back
up the $NTServicePackUninstall$ to a CD-R before removal.

However, since it's release (SP2), I've not had an occasion to
roll it out. But nothing is worse than needing to do something &
not having that capability.

What about those huge numbers of

$NtUninstallKBxxxxxx$ directories (dated 9/2003 through 7/2004)?

Surely they are not needed after SP2 install... I had hoped that SP2 install
would have cleaned out these files.

Should I just delete the directories, or is there a better way of getting
rid of these?

SP2 should have removed those, since it brings everything up to
the new baseline version level. I would go ahead and remove all
the KB (Knowledge Base or Hotfixes) from the system drive.

Hi

This is covered here:

For folders you can consider deleting and other disk cleanup tips
after a successful SP2 installation, take a look here:

Hi

Note that SP2 does not delete the uninstall folders for hotfixes,
only their entries in Add/Remove Programs.

They are not removed by the service pack installation case you need
to go back to the previous installation (and then still be able to
uninstall the hotfixes in case you need to).
