Offline XP license Validation

Hello,
I have to check that XP licenses are valid on a number of computers that
aren't connected to any networks. To get them connected, I'll have to shut
them down and move them, in some cases miles.

Is there an offline XP validation tool, or can I phone MS with the license
and registration number and check, or will I have to move them?

Thanks,
Patrick Keenan

Thank you very much! Does this depend at all on WGA being installed? If
so, I'll have to install that too.

thanks again,

Try it and see - run the tool, it will advise if you are genuine or not etc.

I did try it, and you did in fact provide the needed clue for the task with
the MGAdiag package.

However, the MGADiag package won't run and won't advise unless *this* has
been installed first:
WindowsXP-KB905474-ENU-x86-Standalone.exe

And this was the case with all of the sytems that I had to examine. All
these systems predate WGA, aren't anywhere near network connections, and
can't be removed to get to a connection - they are video surveillance
systems, built to run reliably in an out-of-the-way corner. Updates aren't
even desirable.

So the MGAdiagnostics would not run by itself. Fortunately, I had extra
files with me.

Thanks for the tip!
