offline printer

i have a lexmark x83. it is on put the computer keeps
telling me its offline.what should i do??? already shut
down system an unplugged it an than turned system on an
plugged it back in.anyone have any suggestions???

I just had a similar experience. In XP if you go to the
Printers and Faxes dialog box, right click on "Use
Printer Online" menu item, click on it. If that doesn't
work (it didn't on mine), reinstall WindowsXP. That was
the only thing I could get to work and get my printers
back online (ready). If you reinstall, use the "Repair"
or "Upgrade" option on the reinstall and you shouldn't
lose anything. I just did it today and it worked just
fine for me. Barney
