A
aardvark
Situation is as follows:
Laptop (HP nx7000) runs XP Pro SP1 (all patches loaded),
logs into domain and maps a drive to a share on separate
Windows 2000 Server (which is not part of the domain).
This share contains the home folder (drive mapped as H
.
The My Documents folder on the laptop is redirected to
the folder H:\My Files. Offline files are enabled, and
set to sync on logon.
After syncing the folders (2.3 GB) everything appears OK.
All subfolders are tagged "offline" and after pulling the
NIC cable to test while working the files are all still
available. Folder C:\Windows\CSC duly shows 2.3 GB (and a
bit) as filesize.
However after I shut down and take the laptop home, power
up and logon stand-alone, the offline files are gone. In
fact, they are being deleted by the system automatically
shortly after starting up (C:\Windows\CSC shrinks while I
watch). Next time at the office when I log on, the laptop
syncs again and copies all the files back from the
network.
I've removed the offline files check box and redone it,
deleted the contents of C:\Windows\CSC, renamed the
folder in the share, you name it. Still no go. It used to
work on the previous server (which was a 2003 box)
however as far as I know it should also work under
Windows 2000 Server?? Any help much appreciated!!!
