I'm trying to find out if my sons lap top I took with me
out of town has office xp or front page on it. I am
wanting to do some editing on a particular web site that
I
have been working on at home. I could really get a lot of
work done if I could just access the program. When he
bought the lap top,it came with windows xp already on it.
Please help!

Windows XP is an "operating system" and does not include
Microsoft Office. If you go to Start > Programs and do not
see a link for Microsoft Office, then in all probability it
was not installed in the computer. In that case, you'll need
to purchase Microsoft Office and install it.

My Computer> Drive C>Program Files. Look for folders named microsoft
FrontPage and Microsoft Office. If either or both are there, you have. I
do know that MS Office is NOT a part of Windows-xp; your son either got it
as part of the "package" or had to buy it if he wanted it.

Debbie,
If you click the green 'start' button, then the 'all programs' button the MS
Office programs will be listed there if they are installed, and you are in
an Administrator level account.
If not, you will need to install them from an MS Office installation disc.
Windows XP on its own is just the computer's Operating System, though
sometimes software packages like Office are included by some dealers on some
machines. But it's not standard.
Hope this helps,
