I use a computer that is not part of AD to manage our network remotely. I
have also been using Microsoft Communicator to chat with co-workers.
However, this does not seem to work from this computer. What I try to sign
on to communicator I get the following error:

"Cannot sign in to Commications Service because your computer clock is not
set correctly. To check yopr computer clock settings, open Date and Time in
Windows Control Panel."

So the most logical/obvious question is did you check your clock?

of coarse, sync. with Microsoft i.e. time.winders.com

I was thinking the machine has to be joined to a winders domain...

I would be more inclined to think the time of your local PC and the time of
the computers on the domain is different.
