Office Ass't. Disappeared. How do I get it back?

My Office Assistant (in the form of a paper clip) has disappeared. I have
gone to the "Help" button and clicked "Show Assistant". Nothing happens.
Why have I lost the Office Assistant, and how do I get it back?
