I have XP home but Office 97, I haven't tried installing Office 97 yet. Didn't want to waste time if it will not work

JAX said:Office 97 will work with XP. The only problem I ran into was with spell
check in OE. There is a fix for that, I have gone to Office XP and don't
recall where the fix is, you can Google for it.

Alan said:Well, I do a lot with Access as I am an Access developer. At work we have
many databases that are still based on Access 97 and which are being
accessed (no pun intended) by users with both W2K and XP machines.
I haven't noticed any problems. Rifleman, do you know what kind of problems
are supposed to be occurring, using Access 97 with XP?

Alan said:Hi again,
Okay, I think I know what you're referring to. It has to do with
installation of Access 97 on XP boxes. The scenario is that after installing
Access 97 on an XP machine without any apparent problems, the user receives
a message about the product not being licensed when Access is launched.
This error message actually has to do with a font called "Hatten.ttf"
needing to be renamed before Access 97 is installed. I have run into this
many times and the fix is given at URL
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;141373&Product=acc97.
