I'm getting ready to clean install XP Pro (backing up documents, etc). It
occurred to me, will my Microsoft Office 97 work on XP?

Yes, but remember to install all the service packs. I don't user
Outlook, but the rest runs fine.
 
Maybe because, like me, he doesn't feel that the additional
functionality he would get out of Office XP is worth the ~$300.
