Office 97 with Windows XP

After installing Office 97 onto Windows XP, spell check no
longer works in Outlook Express, "An error occured while
the spelling was being checked". Had same problem with
previous notebook, with same software configuration, and
someone was able to help, but I can't remember how to do
it. It requires a registery change, but for the life of
me, I can't remember.
