Office 97 installation problems on WIN XP Home Edition

I have an old Dell Computer that came with OEM Office 97 and an Office 2000
upgrade CDs - I have the product keys. When I upgraded the Dell to Win XP
Home, I cannot install Office 97 - what happens is the program installs
normally; however, when you try to run it, an error message " Must run Setup
" pops up?

What is the problem? Is MSFT OS thinking that I have pirated software? I
don't understand since non MSFT software installs problem free on my Dell.

Just a query, but why are you installing Office97 anyway - why don't you
just install Office2000, and show it the Office97 CD when it wants some
qualifying media (you do have Office97 CD, don't you?)?
