Rattler

am hoping you can tell me how to correct the following
situation.

I took a PST from a windows 98se Machine and burned it to
CD because it was large and no network to use.
I copied it onto a Windows XP home Laptop with Office 2K.
By the hardest I finally linked it to outlook 2K and All
was well.

I then attempted the reverse process of moving the PST
from the Laptop configured as noted above , via CD-R to
the New PC.

Upon attempting to bring in the Personal PST I get an
Access denied, you don't have privileges, however the PST
is not listed as read only. I also get a statement that I
need to set the properties for this to work.

Hi Rattler,
so please be sure that you have disabled the write protection
PST | RIGHT CLICK | DISABLE WRITE PROTECTION

Thanks Andrea, I checked that out and the only thing check
under properties is archive.
I didn't think that archive would disable write,.

Use scanpst.exe to check the file for errors. If you burned the pst-file
while Outlook was still running you've damaged the pst-file beyond repair
for scanpst.exe and you'll have to burn yourself another copy. Removing the
"Read Only" file attribute is indeed required as Outlook needs modify access
to the file.
