I recently installed Office 2003 & have noticed a couple of problems. First,
if I use the envelope wizard in Word & I click the address book, I get a
message saying "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail
client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Outlook and set it
as the default mail client" I checked & Outlook is set as the default mail
client. After quitting, I get another message saying "Logon failed. You must
log onto MS Exchange to access your address book, Error Code: "Unspecified
Error" This is on my home computer, so there is no exchange server for me to
log on to! Also, whenever I open Word, I get the message "MS Office Word has
detected a version of Acrobat pdfmaker that is known to cause instabilities
in Word 2003. To resolve this issue, download an update from Adobe's
website" I was using Acrobat Reader 6 & then backed down to version 5 & the
update appears to only apply to the full version of Acrobat. I have the full
version of 4, but didn't load it on this new PC, since I'm waiting on a full
version 6. Also, I'm sick of getting messages about macros-I run Anti-Virus
sofware & keep it up to date. I don't appreciate MS feeling that it has to
protect me from myself with its default security settings!

Find and run fixmapi.exe.

For best results, find the acrobat word template and move it out of the
start up folder.

Tools, Macros, Security and either lower the security level or open the
templates and sign the macros using selfcert.
