I have upgrade from Office XP to Office 2003.
Recently I wanted to reformat my HD because of a worm, and saved my Outlook
Office Data File so later I would be able to copy and override the default
file that Office creates. This has worked fine in prior versions of Office
2000 and Office XP.
However after the format, I decided to fresh install Office 2003.
When I overrode the Office data file which is located in <drive>:\Documents
and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
folder, the original(default) data file would not disappear from All Mail
Folders list when I launch Outlook. When I right click on Personal
Folders>Properties: Advanced Tab, the format shows Personal Folders file
(97-2002).
Here is my problem/questions:
1. How can I convert the old outlook data file from 97-2002 to 2003 version?
2. How can I restore my old outlook data file into the new installation of
outlook without having so many Personal Folders listed in Outlook's All Mail
Folders window?
Thank you for any help that you can give.
