Hi

Last week I suddenly couldn't send emails from Outlook. No problem with
internet connection and receiving ok, but the New/Reply/Forward buttons are
greyed out. Then I noticed that my Excel and Word files are simlarly locked.
Can't open new files, can't copy/paste or change anything - only view
existing files. I've reinstalled Office but it's still the same.

Any ideas out there?

This would be a good question for the experts in an Outlook
or MS Office newsgroup.

Thanks very much. Having reinstalled Office to no effect I'm assuming it
isn't an Office problem, so I thought I'd try this Newsgroup. It's the first
time I've ever tried using a Newsgroup, and I don't know much about
computers. Sorry to have bothered you.

Did you activate it after you reinstalled it?
If you didn't it does stay in limited functionally mode.

John,
I am pretty sure that's all you have to do.
There should be a link in help called Activate Product....
I have Office 2007 so I can't direct you.

If I am giving you the wrong place top look go to the Office NG.
