I didn't know which gropup to ask this question. There is
a magazine called the Microft Windows The Official
Magazine XP. What I would like to know is this magazine
put out by Microsoft or not and if so the thing that it
mentions is a good ideal to try? Are the disks that come
with it ok to use or do you not support they?

It is one that is put out in the UK by a commercial company, and has a
degree of contact with MSoft UK. I find Official is perhaps stretching
the strength of the relation. but it does have some articles by
Microsoft staff, usually on general matters. Its advice is not bad, but
I do not always agree with it myself, nor with some of the software it
provides, most specifically programs like RAMbooster, which I would
never wish to see near a machine. And one or two products advertised I
would not approve of, especially one I noticed that purports to give a
four fold speed up to your internet connection. So I would treat it with
the same caution as any other reasonably reputable computer magazine
