Sorry to bring this up here, but I hope someone can help. I am running Win
XP Pro, Earthlink Total Access (includes IE and OE 6). No other firewall or
anti-virus program on the computer, and I installed Zone Alarm Security
Suite, which includes firewall and anti-virus. Result is I can now access
e-mail (OE) but not the net. Any attempt to open a home page or other gets
a "page not available message."

I am using Zone Alarm's default settings. Does anyone have any idea how I
can get out of this morass? I have already uninstalled and reinstalled ZA
but the results are the same.

Judy

What do you have set as the homepage address in IE\Properties\General just
out of curiosity.

ProgramControl > Main ck settings (med, auto, off)
" " > Programs ensure browser(s) r
ck'd 4 all Access

Any advise is my attempt to contribute more than I have received but I can only assure you that it works on my PC. GOOD LUCK.

Home page is www.excite.com, but much to my delight and surprise, this
morning everything is working as it should! So maybe the software just
needed more time to install itself.

Thanks -- Judy

Resarts more likely- I give 2--3 on XP.

Just my 2¢ worth. Larry

Try going into ZA's Program Enabling section and "add" Internet Explorer (and
Windows Explorer too).

Why "Windows Explorer" ?

I don't know WHY....but I couldn't access the internet without adding it
(Windows Explorer) AND LOCKING it in (ZA 5.5).

I have (and always have had) Win Explorer barred from internet access (Zone
Alarm Pro 5.5)
I can think of no reason to allow it unless files need to be shared with
another on line PC ?
