off -line folder synchronization and mystery files

XP Pro, SP2

When synchonizing off-line folders, new folders appear with very mysterious
names (like cyrillic characters). If I delete those files they come back
twice over and then some.

ex: BvÃwlvÃwuvÃwevÃwtvÃwovÃwovÃwtvÃwhvÃw

Can someone tell me what this is and how to stop it from happening.
