Installed a new copy of oem xp (1.2) on a first time box...installed ok, ran ok....but started getting messages about activating xp in 30 days or else.....however when I went to activate xp it said that xp was already activated....so I chose to ignore the message....NOW after 30 days, it says I need to activate at signon, and when I sau yes to activation it comes back and says, Already Activated, and click on ok to cancel....it then goes back to the login....and continues this for everyone...WHAT HAPPENED?....I've updated to the ms home site several times during this so called 30 day trial period, but whats up with this????

Thanx in advance.

Your copy of XP is pirated. As Microsoft told you -- it is already
registered by another user.

Contact the person from whom you purchased your copy of XP and make them
provide you with a legal copy. If they refuse, report them to Microsoft
Piracy.

Not necessarily pirated, but possible. Look back thru the old threads =
someone recently posted a fix for this kind of a problem. Won't help if
it's pirated, but if you got it thru legit channels, there's a fix.

Try repairing the activation .dll file registrations.

Use Start- Run and enter the following text in the dialog box:
regsvr32.exe regwizc.dll

Then do it again with the following text:
regsvr32.exe licdll.dll

Good luck
