OE Security Settings

I notice that the default security setting (which I have not changed) is
"Restricted Sites (More secure)."
Could this be why I get a red xs instead of pictures in attachments?
The alternative is "Internet Zone (Less secure but more functional)."
My setting in IE is "Internet Zone, Medium."
Do most OE users choose the "Internet Zone" setting?
What are the risks?

Yes, it could be the problem. If you have a good A/V you shouldn't
have to worry about the less secure zone. More than a year with my PC
and no problems. Using McAfee online download with continual updates
and free customer support.

Thanks for the advice.
I'm actually not clear on what OE has to do with IE. Just that e-mail goes
through the Internet?

Not likely but possible depending on if the pix are scripted. Are you
running the default settings for Restricted Sites zone?

By default OE6-SP1 installs running in Restricted Sites.

All IE settings are "defaults."
