OE 6: How stop deleted folder emptying automatically?

My deleted folder automatically empties when I open it, leaving only the
messages that are 7 days old or newer.
I went to OE tools, maintenance, and nothing is checked off for the delete
folder to empty.
Any ideas on where to go to stop this?

P.S. I try not to archve in a garbage pail... It's just that occaisionally I
realize I deleted something in error. And, I prefer to choose when to
perpmanently delete items!!
