Recently the Folder List (including such items as Calendar, Contacts,
Notes...) has started listing "Calendar" in Bold followed by "(1)." I
can't figure out what about the calendar is making it do this. Any
suggestions?

(This is Outlook 2002)

This means there is one unread appointment. You can change your Calendar
view to show which appointment that is or rightclick the folder and choose
Mark All As Read

Tips of the month:
-What do the Outlook Icons Mean?
-Create an Office 2003 CD slipstreamed with Service Pack 1

This most likely means you have an appointment you have not read. There are
several ways to clear this, one is right click on the calendar in the
navigation pane and mark all as read. With 2003, (not sure about 2002) if
you want to know what item it is you haven't read, then right click on
calendar and select advanced find. The select the middle tab labeled More
Choices the click on the top check box next to "Only items that are:" and
make sure unread is selected. Click on Find Now and it should show you
which calendar item is creating the (1).

Paul,

I'm having the same problem.....I performed the steps as you indicated but
no joy... the response was "There are no items to show in this view". I
believe there is a pointer problem.I say this becuase my calendar was showing
1 unread msg. I changed my view to "By Category" and it indicated there were
120 items. I then selected all items marked them as unread. Interestingly the
value next to my Calendar in the folder list showed (121) unread msgs. Yet
the number of items indicated next to the Categories title was (120). I
selected all items &marked them as read. Alas the value (1) unread msg was
still displaying next my calendar entry in my folder list. SO....... Is there
a way to re-index the pointers for a mailbox? Or ???

TIA
