odd thing that happens when I save to live web

OK, I have my live web open and I add a photo to a page. No problem. I
save the page and it asks which folder I want the photo to end up in. I
select the folder and save. No problem. The photo ends up in the correct
folder, but another copy of the photo also ends up in the root directory.

Is that normal?

Thanks!

Are you importing the image into the web first, then inserting it on your
page?

No. However, you'll avoid abnormal behavior of many kinds
by always adding pictures to your Web first, and only
then adding them to your Web page.

No, the new photo originates on my hard drive to speed up workflow.

Sound like that's the problem...

However, all content must be either created in or imported into your current
open FP web prior to using.

Jim:

Oddballs for me with new ISP who tookover.

1) in live updating when I open the life site and see it - it does not
appear like the real site. [meta themes and body background missing]
This seems to change immediately the real site. What to do?

2) then in publishing my original copy, they told me to put numerics
and when I did FP assumes this to be ftp and publish did not succeed.
Does FP assume ftp or should I have prefixed http before the numerics.
(checked pg 389 on in your 2002 book.]

thanks,

When publishing or opening a web on a FP enabled server, you must always use
http:// domain or ip address unless using FP98.

Either reapply the Theme or republish your site.

I mistrust defaults and always enter the http://.

You may have published to a folder named c:\192.168.1.1 or whatever.
