Not sure if anyone can offer any advice regarding this problem.

A colleague of mine has problems with one 'forum' site ' where if a link
enclosed with in the message is clicked, the browsers returns a 'forum not
found' message even though the link is a hyper link.

All I know of the computer is that it is running Win xp, and have norton as
the firewall and AV. System is fully updated through XP and SP2. This has
happened only recently and no software has been additionally loade.

We have run everything from spy checkers, cleared temp files, caches etc, to
system tools (sfc) but nothing stops this one problem. It is applicable to
one forum site only. No other site is affected by this problem.

Any advice please?

If that's not it, knowing the URL of the forum, and the exact text of the
message, might help.

Hi chuck

Under measge boards

Eaxct wording appears to be a response from the forum server as follows
their page deign/scheme etc.....'forum not found'

To all intents and purposes it looks like the message head of a posting.

Sorry, also need to note that this is a problem that has occured only in the
last few weeks. Previous to this, it worked perfectly.

Dave,

I'm not seeing any reference to a forum, either in the URL, or in the web page
retrieved. Nor do I get an error.

Have you reported this to (e-mail address removed) (anm.co.uk appearing to be responsible
for the web page)?

Are there other computers on the same network where retrieval of this web page
can be tried?

Hi Chuck

Sorry it is not forum but message board. my apologies.

It is actually in the message boards which is a link on the left of tgeh web
page, from there, there are several boards that can be used, anyboard with a
hyperlink, which needs to be searched for by normally found under 'mortgages
and homes' has the problem.

So we are looking at 'thisismoney' web page, left side of page for 'message
boards', then 'mortgages and home'......'mortgages and homes' again, then
browse to say....'mortgage lending slows again, there is a hyperlink that
fails to work on my colleagues computer.

Regards

Dave J.

PS
Sorry for confusion there Chuck!

Dave,

Well I think I see what you're talking about. At least I think I can find the
message that you're talking about - is it dated 19/03/05 by jkingsbury?

There is indeed something odd about that message, it's not like the rest, but I
can't see anything definitive in the page source.

What browser is being used? Are there any other computers on the network where
this can be tried? Any other browser on this computer?

Hi Chuck

Yes, that is the link. It looks strange as it has been posted from another
site by copy and paste from the tool bar. The webpage has the problem with
long links in that it drags the page down. It is a known problem that one.

The colleagues problem is with all links on this site though, not just these
long ones.

Only IE as the brower on the system, no other computers as not networked. It
is a straight plug in the modem, no router etc.

Regards

Dave.

Ah sorry, more confusion. I thought this was one of those links that sent the
page to the bottom, but it wasn't. That is another story!

Sorry, not sure then when you say this message looks strange, Chuck. In what
way, could you clarify please.

Regards

Dave
