Odd problem - I can't close an archive folder in the folder menu

Mighty A

My Archives folder is open and cannot be closed from within the folder
menu or the file menu. I have repaired that mailbox using the utility
provided, done detect and repair twice, yet Outlook persists in
telling me that 'operation cannot be completed, an object cannot be
found'.

Any smart ideas out there?
 
What version of Outlook?
