I am a bit of a novice at Access, all of a sudden I now have some strange
files in my database which I never created, and am not allowed to delete ?!,
says I must have modify design permission ?! - I wrote all of database
Files are:-
MSysAccessObects
MSysAccessXML etc. 6 of them - table contents make no sense to me

Any ideas? - would like to delete them !!!!

Al,

Those are the system tables (they are the tables that MS Access uses
to describe that particular database).

Go to: Tools > Options.

When the Options Dialog Box opens, click the View Tab (if it isn't
already in the front).

On the right, in the top half, are three check boxes.

Uncheck System Objects.

That should remove the system tables from the Tables list.

Sincerely,

Chris O.

Whoever you are Chris, you certainly know Access, I'm jealous !!!!
Thanks again,

Al,

Thank you. :)

But to be fair to all the pro MVPs and developers here, most of them
have forgotten more about Access than I know.

As to the particular question I answered on this thread, just to let
you know, having the checkbox accidentally get set to show system
objects happens quite a bit. The question gets asked frequently on
several of the access newsgroups.

Sincerely,

Chris O.
