I bought a built-from-scratch computer and opted to
install XP Home myself and save the install fee. When I
loaded XP Home to a brand-spanking new hard drive, XP gave
it a drive assignment of H:. One of the USB ports on the
front of the case comes up as drive C:. Due to some work
software limitations, I need the boot drive (the hard
drive) to be C:. Can anyone help out? I've already
backed up everything and I am totally willing to reformat
and reinstall...I just have no idea of how to tell XP to
call the hard drive the C: drive instead of the H: drive.

Thanks!

Physically disconnect all connections leading from your USB device,
then perform a "clean install". After installing XP, reconnect the USB
device.

Thanks for the advice and the website to go over the
clean install! I'll do it tonight and post the results
for posterity. Much appreciated!!
