Sorry for previous post. Accidentally hit send.

I am working on a presentation, currently with 30 slides.
Everything was OK up to 27. But now, when I insert an
image into a slide, PP:

1. Inserts the image as expected
2. Moves and resizes a completely separate image
3. Adds a text box ready for me to type into.

This is now happening on every slide, is very bizarre, and
is fiddly to work-around. What's causing it?

Go to Tools > AutoCorrect > AutoFormat As You Type and uncheck "Automatic layout
for inserted objects".

Try this:

Choose Tools, Autocorrect Options
Click the "AutoFormat As You Type" tab
Remove the check next to "Automatic layout for inserted objects"
