Odd Behavior

Since I installed XP, when my computer is doing nothing, the hard disk R/W light on the front of the case pulses like a heartbeat. Just about the same speed and duration

I've tried closing down processes to find which one is causing it, but even after all are closed, the heartbeat continues

It goes on even when CPU usage is reported as zero

I have a broadband Internet connection through a router modem and an Ethernet hub

Anybody got any idea? TIA.
