Hi folks,

I'm trying to connect a MySQL database to Access so we can have the
nice front end, but for some reason the Import data wizard isnt
working.

If I go into Access & go File > Import data, it doesnt give me the
import wizard, rather it lets me choose a rather limited set of file
types. If I click ODBC Databases() it simply closes down and doesnt
give me any further choices.

The wizard HAS run on my PC, however its not consistent, and I was
wondering what factor may have been present before which isnt now.

I'm running 2003 version, fully updated and I've done a detect &
repair, but still no success. Any help would be great.

When I did manage to connect, it couldnt see any of the MySQL tables,
however I'll cross that bridge later on.

Thanks

If you use Norton Anti-Virus, try turning off the Office plug-in. You'll
find it under 'Miscellaneous' in the Norton Anti-Virus options dialog.

Hi Brendan,

Thank you very much indeed. Never thought about Norton being the
problem :o) I can now see DSNs. The wizard hasnt appeared but it will
probably need a reboot or something.

Thanks again.
