Hi All,

I am looking to incorporate a distributable spell checker into my a2k app.
The one I have chosen is SpellEx, they have an ocx and a dll version of
their spelling engine. I would be interested in any opinions regarding
preferences. Is there any reason/advantage to choosing one over the other?

Thanks
Steve C

Hi Doug,

I had previously contacted SpellEx tech support and asked some questions
specific to the Microsoft Kb article. I did not get a absolute yes on the
ocx, but I can download either or both for testing purposes. I just wanted
to get some opinions about preference on one over the other, based on the
premise of "either will work"

Unfortunately, I am familiar with Access' ocx limitations :)

Thanks for the reply,
Steve C

I can't see that there should be any significant difference between the two.

If it is a standard Windows DLL, not an ActiveX DLL then I would
personally go with the DLL simply to avoid having to ensure the ActiveX
is registered properly and will actually work on an Access form.

Thanks for the input. Yes it is a standard Windows DLL, using it was the
choice I was leaning towards. It's helpful to me to get some "more expert"
opinions.
