In a PowerPoint slide show, some viewers have complained
that objects still display on the screen from a previous
slide (a table with numbers that appears on a previous
slide) This does not happen to all viewers. What could be
causing this? The objects are not in the Slide Master or
the Background, only on one previous slide.

How is the slide show being presented? Is it through web
conferencing or as an individual show?

Mary,
I would suggest looking into the video drivers on the machines having
problems. See if there are newer ones than are installed. You might also try
turning down hardware acceleration on those machines. Information on the
hardware acceleration is available from this entry in Steve Rindsberg's PPT

How to set graphics hardware acceleration back
