Object actin in action settings

I have been trying to get text boxes and simple boxes on a ppt slide to
exit/disappear when I click on them in slide show mode.
I want to be able to select any of 8 boxes on my slide, click on it and have
it disappear. When I go into action settings for an action box (under slide
show), two options (run macro & object action)are visible but light colored
and not available.
It would seem that exit might be an option in that drop down menu, if I
could only get to it... is there another add in module, or setting somewhere
in ppt
that I have to go to to make that available?

for an illusion of this happening and doing it without macros you could have
9 slides each a mirror of the original

create 9 slides
on the first slide create all 8 objects, create each object action to
hyperlink to a specific slide 2-9
select all and copy
move to slide 2 and paste
repeat 3 -9
go back and on each of these duplicates 2-9 remove the particular object
test you linked the boxes to the right slides

it should loop? unless you don't click on an object, obviously you can
customize it more depending on what you want

lost?

You are talking about exit animations with triggers. You want to set the
Effect Timings to "Triggers" and set the animation to happen being
triggered by the object itself. This is not under Action Settings but
under Custom Animations. Let us know if you need more detailed
instructions to find it.

it never occurred to me you could set an objects trigger to be itself! -
that's handy and tidier - I shall try that. (I've only just started using
triggers). Thank you David.
