I can't seem to be able to get on the Acrobat Reader USENET group. . It
insisted I subscribe, I signed on to subscribe, and I waited 20 minutes
while that little blue progress bar made NO PROGRESS! So here I am.

Hi!
All I want out of life right now is a plain, simple , English version
of the Acrobat Reader. I couldn't find any on their website, except
7.01. So I took forever downloading it using a modem, not realizing
that it wouldn't run because it was an Update!! Grrrrr.

Can someone point my head in the right direction?

ThanX - Mike

You may have chosen to download a patch. If you start from
www.acrobat.com then you should find the download page
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html pretty quickly,
which has the download for Adobe Reader 7.0.5

It's also possible that you have a driver/software CD somewhere for
another product that bundles Adobe Acrobat Reader so you can read
associated documentaiton. It may not be version 7.x, but will likely
more than suffice for most needs.
