Have relocated PST file to new computer, running same version and system.
Contacts selection window shows contacts sorted by FIRST names though have
selected last names in tools/options/preferences/contact options
and
view/current view/customize

Additionally
Have 3 contact sub folders which are inaccessible on contacts selection
popup window..This worked fine before migration.

All/Any help sincerely appreciated.

If you have Contacts in the Contacts folder but they are not accessible when
you click on the To button, check these settings:

Make sure the Contact folder is enabled as an email address book. Right
click the Contacts folder, choose Properties then Outlook Address Book. Is
the box to enable as email address book is checked?

For sorting - open the address book and look on its tools, options.

Thank you Diane for your fast response.
1.Contacts folder properties now fixed all sub folder accessable . Great
tip....
2.Tools options contacts sort =last first
whats next??

Possibly stopping and restarting Outlook.

Tried that several times.
Seem to be stuck at listing by first names in pop up for addresses.

how about the other address book dialog - tools, accounts, view or change
address books... select outlook address book and click change.
